World Health Day at ISM: Expert Lecture Highlights Link Between Nutrition and Productivity

ISM, Patna, April 7, 2026: Marking the occasion of World Health Day, the Department of Management, International School of Management (ISM), Patna, organised an insightful Guest Lecture on the theme “Nutrition, Lifestyle Management and its Role in Enhancing Productivity” for undergraduate students. The programme aimed to sensitise young learners to the strong connection between healthy living, mental well-being, and academic as well as professional performance.

The session featured Dr. Vidya Kumar as the resource person, an accomplished academician with teaching expertise and over 20 years of professional experience in nutrition, dietetics, and public health. Through an engaging and informative interaction, Dr. Kumar highlighted the significance of balanced nutrition and disciplined lifestyle choices in shaping a productive and resilient life.

Dr. Vidya Kumar highlighted that good health is the true foundation of productivity, as a healthy body and mind improve focus, efficiency, and overall performance. She emphasized that balanced nutrition, proper sleep, regular exercise, hydration, and stress management are essential for a productive and successful life. She also pointed out that unhealthy habits such as junk food, irregular eating, lack of sleep, and inactivity can negatively affect energy, concentration, and mental well-being. Stressing that health is holistic, she encouraged students to develop healthy routines early in life, as small daily habits can create a big positive impact. According to her, self-care and prevention through disciplined lifestyle choices are key to academic excellence, personal growth, and professional success.

The programme was organised under the inspiring leadership of Mr. Deval Singh, Vice-Chairman, and under the guidance and direction of Dr. Sandeep Kumar, Director; Dr. Sweta Rani, Academic Head; Dr. Vivekanand Sharma, Principal; and Ms. Neeru Kumari, Admin, whose consistent support for academic innovation and industry-oriented learning made the initiative possible.

 

The event was conducted under the guidance of Ms. Pooja Dubey, Head of the Department of Management. The session was coordinated and moderated by Ms. Bhavna Kumari, Assistant Professor, who ensured smooth conduct of the programme and facilitated meaningful interaction between the speaker and the students.

The lecture witnessed enthusiastic participation from undergraduate students, who actively engaged in the discussion and gained valuable insights into the role of nutrition in maintaining focus, emotional stability, and performance in everyday life.

Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Pooja Dubey, HoD, Department of Management, noted that such lectures are essential in nurturing not only academically competent students but also health-conscious and responsible individuals. She remarked that in today’s fast-paced world, awareness of nutrition and lifestyle management is indispensable for sustaining productivity, discipline, and holistic development among the youth.

The session concluded on a highly positive note, reinforcing ISM Patna’s commitment to holistic education and student well-being through relevant, value-based, and socially meaningful academic initiatives.
