ISM Patna has a special focus on hands-on training for students and faculty, thus it keeps its syllabi abreast with the changing needs of the Industry. In keeping with this intent the ISM Patna has been holding Industry-Academia interface at regular intervals and has also been inviting the representative of the industry experts in its academic body. The representation has also helped the institute to strengthen the course curriculum and hence increase the employability of the management students.
ISM Patna (04 November 2023): International School of Management Patna organised the Finance and HR Conclave-2023 on Saturday, 4 November 2023. The theme of the event was “Financial Transmutation and HR Excellence: Global Scenario.” To foster a spirit of innovation, entrepreneurship, and global thinking among its students, this conclave was convened by the Departments of Finance and HR of the institute under the guidance of Director, Dr. V. B. Singh.
Mr. A.M. Prasad (Retired. IRS), Former Special Secretary, Government of India, Central Economic Intelligence Bureau President, Bihar HR Chapter, Dr. Bakshi Amit Kumar Sinha Assistant Professor, Bihar Institute of Public Finance and Policy (BIPFP), Bihar, Mr. Rajiv Ranjan, Assistant Labour Commissioner, LRD, Govt. of Bihar, Mr. Amitabh Prasad (M. Com/CA) Master Trainer - DOPT (Bangkok), Faculty, BIPARD, TISS, were the keynote speakers of the conclave.
The whole event was conducted in major three sessions including Key keynote addresses, students’ presentations, panel discussion and a valedictory session. The programme was initiated with a welcome address articulated by the Moderator of the session, Domain Leader of the Department of Economics and Finance, Ms Shilpi Kavita. The event was inaugurated by the thematic address delivered by the Training and Placement Officer, Ms Neeru Kumari Jha.
This annual conclave brought together leading experts and professionals in the fields of finance and human resources to discuss and deliberate on the rapidly evolving dynamics of these crucial sectors. The keynote speakers exchanged their ideas, insights and experiences about the latest trends, challenges, and opportunities in the domains of finance and human resources. The event aimed to promote a deeper understanding of the global financial landscape and HR strategies to enhance corporate performance.
The event attracted over 300 participants from premier management schools across India, including students, faculty, and industry professionals. It featured a diverse range of speakers and panel discussions, covering topics such as digital transformation in finance, sustainable finance practices, talent acquisition, employee engagement, and more.
More than forty papers were presented by industry experts, academicians and students on various dynamic topics including the importance of skill development, global skills gap and HR strategies for skill development, training and development programs, reskilling and upskilling for employee retention, digital transformation and skilling, case studies of global companies, sustainable finance and impact investing, geopolitical risks and wealth preservation, robo-advisors and automated investing, role of venture capital and private equity with special reference to start-up eco-system, role of digital transformation in shaping the economy.
In her valedictory speech Ms Neeru Kumari Jha, Admin, ISM Patna, extended her heartfelt gratitude to each of the esteemed guests and distinguished participants for their in-depth discussions, thought-provoking presentations, and engaging dialogues that have expanded the understanding of the intricate interplay between finance and human resources in the ever-changing world and said, “The finance and HR sectors are not just about numbers and policies; they are about people, growth, and the transformation of businesses and economies. Let us continue to strive for excellence in these areas, adapting to the evolving financial and HR landscapes.”
Co-conveners of the conclave, Ms. Shilpi Kavita and Ms. Pooja Dubey, played vital roles in curating the event’s agenda and ensuring its success. Expressing her hope, Ms. Dubey, the Domain Leader of the Department of HR said that the connections made and the ideas exchanged during this Conclave would continue to foster collaboration and innovation in the realms of finance and HR.
