Time Management Skills Highlighted at ISM Patna Guest Lecture

ISM, Patna, June 4, 2026: Reinforcing its commitment to holistic student development and professional excellence, the Department of Management at the International School of Management (ISM), Patna, organized a Guest Lecture on “Managing Time” on June 4, 2026. The academic session was conducted under the guidance of Director Prof. (Dr.) Sandeep Kumar and coordinated by the Head of the Department of Management, Dr. Pooja Dubey.

The session was delivered by renowned educator Dr. Sweta Bakshi, who shared valuable insights on the significance of time management in achieving academic success, professional growth, and personal effectiveness. Addressing the students, she emphasized that time is one of the most valuable resources and that its effective use is essential to achieving goals and maintaining work-life balance.

During her lecture, Dr. Bakshi elaborated on various domains of time management, including academic planning, professional responsibilities, personal development, and social commitments. She also discussed the common challenge of procrastination, explaining how delaying important tasks can adversely affect productivity, performance, and mental well-being.

The resource person introduced several practical techniques of time management such as prioritization of tasks, goal setting, scheduling, delegation, maintaining to-do lists, and the effective use of planners and digital tools. She further highlighted the fundamental principles of time management, including discipline, consistency, focus, accountability, and the importance of setting realistic deadlines.

The interactive session witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, who engaged actively in discussions and sought guidance on managing academic workload and career preparation effectively.

Summarizing the key takeaways of the lecture, Dr. Pooja Dubey remarked that effective time management is a crucial life skill that enables individuals to enhance productivity, reduce stress, and achieve both personal and professional objectives. She encouraged students to cultivate disciplined habits and adopt systematic planning to make the best use of their time.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, proposed by Dr. Neha Jha, expressing gratitude to the resource person for her enlightening and inspiring session that equipped students with practical strategies for managing time more effectively in their academic and professional journeys.
