Road Safety Awareness Drive by ISM NSS Volunteers

On Saturday, 4 February, under the guidance of Director, Professor (Dr) R. K. Singh, NSS Committee of International School of Management Patna conducted a Road Safety Awareness Drive by more than 50 NSS Volunteers of BAJMC and BCP disciplines. This awareness rally was started from the campus and ends at DRM Chowk, near Danapur Railway station. At beginning of this drive more 30 drivers of the institute were educated about important safety measures and dos and don'ts to avoid road accidents. Talking about the grim situations concerned with road accidents the volunteers highlighted, “Approximately 400 lives are lost daily, and as per 2022 statistics, India ranks first in road accident fatalities and number three in persons getting injured in road mishaps.” To save millions of lives that are endangered worldwide as road safety continues to be a significant concern, they reiterated the national theme for the year 2023 as ‘Sadak Suraksha Jeevan Raksha’. And they emphasised that complying with the government’s safety regulations they must follow various measures while driving as conscious citizens of India so that they could keep themselves and their loved ones safe.

Worried about gradual escalation in road accidents and worst effects on both domestic and nation’s economy, head of the NSS Committee, Ms Shilpi Kavita said, “This drive is intended to aware teenagers and drivers about careless and reckless driving and road safety rules so that thousands of lethal causalities and deaths could be curbed.” The pertinent campaign was conducted under the supervision and coordination of NSS team members of ISM, Ms Vandana Verma, Mr. Rahul Kumar Sinha and Mr. Nayan Ranjan Sinha.
