ISM Patna (12 January 2024): The National Service Scheme (NSS) Cell at the International
School of Management Patna commemorated National Youth Day with a series of engaging and
insightful activities on Friday, January 12. The celebrations were organized under the able
leadership of Dr. Shilpi Kavita, the esteemed Chairperson of the NSS Cell.
National Youth Day is observed annually on January 12th, the birth anniversary of the great
philosopher and spiritual leader, Swami Vivekananda. The NSS Cell at the International School
of Management Patna embraced the occasion with enthusiasm and a commitment to channelling
the energy and potential of the youth towards nation-building.
The day commenced with a meaningful inaugural ceremony where the Director, of the Institute,
Dr. V. B. Singh, addressed the gathering, emphasising the importance of empowering the youth
with knowledge, skills, and a sense of social responsibility. Dr. Singh encouraged the students to
reflect on Swami Vivekananda’s teachings and imbibe the values of selfless service, leadership,
and compassion.
As part of the celebrations, various activities were organized throughout the day to engage
students in constructive and thought-provoking discussions under the coordination of the
members of NSS Cell, Ms. Vandana Verma and Ms. Nitu Kumari. On-the-spot poster-making
workshops, Essay writing competitions, reel-making, run for youth, extempore and interactive
sessions were conducted on topics such as leadership development, community service, and the
role of the youth in nation-building. These activities aimed to inspire and motivate the students to
contribute positively to society.
In addition to the intellectual engagement, the NSS Cell organised a community service
initiative, where students participated in a cleanliness drive within the campus and its
surrounding areas. This hands-on approach towards community service instilled a sense of
responsibility and civic pride among the participants.
Dr. Shilpi Kavita expressed her gratitude towards the students for their active participation and
commitment to the ideals of National Youth Day. She stated, “National Youth Day is not just a
celebration but a reminder of the immense potential and responsibility that lies within each
young individual. The NSS Cell is dedicated to nurturing socially responsible and empowered
leaders who will contribute to the development of our society and nation.”
The NSS Cell at the International School of Management Patna remains committed to fostering a
