The PGDM students of International School of Management Patna learned about essential strategies and best practices in combating financial crimes and ensuring compliance with regulations in an expert talk on the topic of “Anti Financial Crime Due Diligence” organised by Department of Economics and Finance on Saturday, 23 September 2023.
The distinguished key speaker for the event, Mr. Kumar Gaurav, Director of Client Fabric Tech Ltd., discussed the importance of anti-financial crime due diligence (AFCDD) in the fight against financial crime. He highlighted the various types of financial crime, such as money laundering, terrorist financing, and cyber fraud, and explained how AFCDD can help to prevent and detect these crimes.
Mr. Gaurav also discussed the various challenges that businesses face in implementing AFCDD measures. He emphasized the importance of taking a risk-based approach to AFCDD and tailoring AFCDD measures to the specific needs of each business.
The talk was attended by the convener of the programme, Domain Leader of the Department of Economics and Finance, Ms. Shilpi Kavita; coordinator, Assistant Professor, Mr. Rahul Kumar Sinha, students, faculty members, and industry professionals. The audience engaged actively in the Q&A session that followed the talk.
