ISM PGDM Students Gain Real-Time Industrial Exposure

ISM Patna, May 12, 2026: Reinforcing its commitment to experiential learning and industry-oriented management education, the International School of Management (ISM), Patna, organized an industrial visit for the PGDM 3rd Trimester students to the production unit of Hero Cycles located at Brahmpur, Patna, Bihar. The educational visit provided students with an invaluable opportunity to bridge the gap between classroom theories and real-world industrial practices.

The industrial exposure programme was coordinated by PGDM Coordinator and Assistant Professor (Marketing), Dr. Anand Kumar Choudhary, under the guidance and direction of Director Prof. (Dr.) Sandeep Kumar, Academic Head Prof. (Dr.) Sweta Rani, Training and Placement Officer, Ms. Neeru Kumari, and Head of the Department of Management, Dr. Pooja Dubey.

During the visit, the students were introduced to various operational and managerial dimensions of manufacturing processes. They closely observed the production line, assembly line mechanisms, workflow management, quality control systems, and other critical aspects of industrial production. The students also gained practical insights into modern management concepts such as Kaizen, Lean Theory, continuous improvement strategies, productivity enhancement, and waste minimization techniques, which they had previously studied in their academic curriculum.

The visit became particularly enriching as the students interacted with Plant Head Mr. Sujit Jha and HR Head Mr. Rahul Kumar, who provided detailed explanations regarding industrial operations, workforce coordination, production efficiency, and organizational management practices. The interactive session enabled students to understand the practical challenges and strategic approaches involved in managing large-scale production units.

Speaking about the significance of the visit, Coordinator Dr. Anand Kumar Choudhary remarked that industrial exposure plays a crucial role in shaping management students into industry-ready professionals. He stated that witnessing concepts like Kaizen and Lean Management in real-time industrial settings significantly enhances students’ conceptual clarity and analytical understanding. He further emphasized that such visits help students develop practical perspectives, professional confidence, and a deeper understanding of operational management.

The students expressed enthusiasm and appreciation for the opportunity, stating that the visit provided them with meaningful learning experiences beyond textbooks and classrooms. They noted that observing real-time manufacturing operations strengthened their understanding of production management and industrial processes.

The management of ISM Patna appreciated the initiative and reiterated the institution’s continuous efforts to provide practical learning opportunities, industry interaction, and experiential education to prepare students for the dynamic corporate environment.
