ISM NSS Cell Launches International Yoga Day Week with ‘Sundays on Cycle’ Campaign Promoting Fitness and Nation Building

ISM Patna, June 16, 2026: In a vibrant initiative aimed at promoting health, fitness, and sustainable living, the NCC Cell of the International School of Management (ISM), Patna marked the commencement of the International Yoga Day Week by organizing the nationwide campaign “Sundays on Cycle” in association with Unnat Bharat Abhiyan on Sunday, 14 June, 2026. The programme was inspired by the initiatives of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, the Sports Authority of India (SAI), FIT India, and the Cycling Federation of India (CFI). It was organised and coordinated by the NSS Cell Coordinator, Ms. Neeru Kumari, and the Programme Officer, Mr. Basuki Nath Upadhyay, respectively.

The event saw enthusiastic participation from around 30 NSS volunteers, who took part in a Cyclothon, yoga sessions, and various physical and mental wellness activities. The programme carried the inspiring message of “Swastha Bharat, Samriddha Bharat, Viksit Bharat” (Healthy India, Prosperous India, Developed India), emphasizing the vital role of fitness and well-being in nation-building.

The activity was conducted under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Sandeep Kumar, Director; Prof. (Dr.) Viveka Nand Sharma, Dean and Principal; and Prof. (Dr.) Sweta Rani, Academic Head, who have consistently encouraged student participation in initiatives promoting holistic development, community engagement, and healthy lifestyles.

Addressing the participants, the Coordinator, Ms. Neeru Kumari, highlighted the significance of adopting fitness-oriented habits in daily life. In her keynote message, she stated that cycling and yoga are not merely physical activities but powerful tools for developing discipline, mental resilience, environmental consciousness, and social responsibility among the youth. She emphasized that a healthy and active generation is essential for realizing the vision of a developed India.

The programme generated tremendous enthusiasm among students, who pledged to incorporate regular physical activity, yoga, and environmentally friendly practices into their daily routines. The event also underscored the importance of sustainable mobility through cycling and reinforced the values of wellness, teamwork, and civic responsibility.

The successful launch of the International Yoga Day Week at ISM Patna reflects the institution’s continued commitment to fostering physical fitness, mental well-being, and community participation among its students, aligning with national initiatives to promote a healthier and stronger India.
