ISM NSS Cell Celebrated World Environment Day

Under the guidance of Director, Professor (Dr) R. K. Singh, the NSS (National Service Scheme) Cell of the International School of Management Patna celebrated World Environment Day on Monday, 5 June. Intending to raise awareness and take action on pressing environmental issues, NSS volunteers organised an awareness campaign to educate local people about the critical environmental challenges faced by the world community and encourage them to adopt sustainable practices in their daily lives. They observed an environment protection march and distributed hundreds of plants among the nearby villages and had interactive sessions with the villagers.  They also showcased several self-made eco-themed posters and short videos on innovative solutions for environmental conservation like plastic pollution, upcycling and waste management.

Adhering to the guidelines of the AICTE, all activities related to mass mobilization on Mission LiFE, performed by the volunteers were planned under the supervision and coordination of members of NSS Cell, Ms Vandana Verma, and Mr Rahul Kumar Sinha led by the Chairperson, Ms Shilpi Kavita.

On the occasion, the Director asserted, “The International School of Management Patna recognizes the importance of instilling a sense of environmental responsibility in its students. By organizing the World Environment Day celebrations, the NSS Cell aims to foster a deep understanding and appreciation of nature, ensuring that future leaders are equipped with the knowledge and passion to protect the environment for generations to come. This year’s theme, “Ecosystem Restoration,” aligns perfectly with the school’s commitment to environmental sustainability and conservation.”

At the end of the celebration, Ms Shilpi Kavita said, “This drive aimed to restore and rejuvenate the local ecosystem by planting a diverse range of native tree species. Active participation of the NSS volunteers along with other students, faculty members and ISM community would certainly contribute to the beautification and conservation of the surrounding area and ultimately of this whole planet, the Earth.”
