International School of Management Patna, a premier educational institution, celebrated the vibrant and joyous Dandia Evening on Monday, 16 October. The event was organized under the dedicated coordination of Ms. Shilpi Kavita, the Chairperson of the Cultural Committee. Distinguished dignitaries, Honourable Chairman, Sri Samrendra Singh, Vice-chairman, Sri Deval Singh, Secretary, Sri Amal Singh, Director, Dr. V. B. Singh, Admin Ms. Neeru Kumari Jha graced the occasion with their esteemed presence.
The Dandia Evening was a showcase of an array of vibrant dance performances, traditional music, and a joyful exchange of festivities, highlighting the spirit of unity and camaraderie among the students, faculty members and non-teaching staff. The event brought together the entire school community, fostering a sense of togetherness and promoting the rich cultural heritage of India. Traditionally, Dandiya is a celebration of the victory of good over evil, covertly disciplined behaviour over undisciplined one. It is also a moment to revel in unity and harmony.
The programme commenced with the lighting of the lamp and Durga Arti. Inspired by their seniors, more than 800 new entrants of different courses representing various cultures and backgrounds, actively participated in all the events of the melodious and beautiful evening designed by the team members of the ISM Cultural Committee, Ms. Neeru Kumari Jha, Ms. Pooja Dubey and Ms. Vandana Verma. All the students dazzled around in the best of their traditional North Indian outfits.
Enlightening on the importance of this special evening, the Director said, “Our institute believes in fostering such an environment that could shape the personality of the students holistically so that they could face any sort of challenges positively. This Dandiya Evening on the auspicious occasion of the second day of Navratri, dedicated to Brahmcharini, is intended to inculcate into them a blended personality trait including knowledge, wisdom, single-minded dedication, serenity, chastity, bliss, love, loyalty, discipline and graceful appearance.” He also applauded the students for their outstanding performances and encouraged them to embrace and preserve the diverse cultural heritage of our nation in a disciplined manner.
