ISM FDP Explores Digital Transformation in Communication, Culture and Research in the AI Era

ISM Patna, June 20, 2026: Advancing its commitment to academic innovation and future-ready communication education, the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication at the International School of Management (ISM), Patna successfully organized a six-day virtual Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on the theme “Digital Transformation in Communication, Culture and Composition (Tools, Trends and Techniques)” from June 15 to June 20, 2026.

The programme was conducted under the visionary leadership of Sri Deval Singh, Vice Chairman, and under the academic guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Sandeep Kumar, Director; Prof. (Dr.) Viveka Nand Sharma, Dean and Principal; Prof. (Dr.) Sweta Rani, Academic Head; and Ms. Neeru Kumari, IQAC Coordinator. 

Bringing together distinguished academicians and researchers from reputed institutions across the country, the FDP offered an interdisciplinary platform to explore the transformative impact of digital technologies on communication, culture, content creation, and research methodologies.

The programme featured expert sessions by Dr. Amrit Kumar, Assistant Professor, Department of Mass Communication, Central University of Jharkhand; Dr. Amita, Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal Central University; Dr. Nidhi Bhandari, Assistant Professor, ITM University, Gwalior; Dr. Sandeep Dubey, Assistant Professor, Aryabhatta Knowledge University (AKU), Patna; Dr. Rajeev Kamal Kumar, Assistant Professor, Anugrah Narayan Singh Institute of Social Studies, Patna; and Dr. Manish Jaisal, Assistant Professor, ITM University, Gwalior.

The resource persons delivered insightful lectures on a wide range of contemporary themes, including digital media and social change in contemporary India, digital storytelling techniques and emerging trends in content creation, digital culture and identity in networked societies, the communication heritage of the Indian Knowledge System, qualitative research methods in social science research, and AI-powered tools for academic communication and research.

Throughout the six-day programme, participants engaged in discussions on how technological advancements are reshaping media ecosystems, cultural expressions, academic writing, research practices, and knowledge dissemination. The sessions highlighted the growing significance of ethical, inclusive, and innovative communication strategies in an increasingly digital world.

The FDP was organized by Dr. Sunita, Head, Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, and coordinated by Mr. Satish Kumar, Ms. Swati Savarn, and Ms. Arti Kumari, Assistant Professors of the department.

In her concluding remarks, Ms. Neeru Kumari, IQAC Coordinator, emphasized that digital transformation is no longer confined to technological adoption alone but has become a catalyst for redefining communication practices, cultural engagement, and scholarly inquiry. She noted that educators and researchers must continuously upgrade their digital competencies to remain relevant and effective in the rapidly evolving knowledge economy. She also appreciated the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication for organizing a timely and intellectually enriching FDP that successfully blended theoretical understanding with practical applications.

The programme concluded with an interactive valedictory session and a vote of thanks, where participants expressed their appreciation for the enriching academic deliberations and practical insights shared by the eminent resource persons. The FDP reaffirmed ISM Patna’s commitment to fostering academic excellence, research innovation, and digital literacy among educators and scholars.
