ISM Equips Educators for the AI Era Through Five-Day Faculty Development Programme

ISM Patna, June 9, 2026: Reinforcing its commitment to academic innovation, technological advancement, and future-ready education, the Department of Computer Applications at the International School of Management (ISM), Patna successfully organized a five-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on the theme “Empowering Educators with the Intelligence of Tomorrow” from June 1 to June 8, 2026.

The programme was conducted under the visionary leadership of Sri Deval Singh, Vice Chairman, with academic guidance from Prof. (Dr.) Sandeep Kumar, Director, Prof. (Dr.) Viveka Nand Sharma, Dean and Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Sweta Rani, Academic Head, and Ms. Neeru Kumari, IQAC Coordinator. It was organized and moderated by Prof. Rajeshwar Dayal, Head, Department of Computer Applications, and coordinated by Mr. Bhavesh Kumar.

Designed to familiarize educators with the transformative potential of Artificial Intelligence in higher education, the FDP attracted enthusiastic participation from faculty members, research scholars, academic administrators, trainers, educators, and industry professionals from diverse disciplines. Each session lasted 90 minutes and focused on practical applications of AI in teaching, learning, content development, assessment, and responsible use.

The five-day Faculty Development Programme featured distinguished resource persons from leading academic institutions across India. The sessions were conducted by Dr. Atul Agrawal, Associate Professor and Head, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Oriental University, Bhopal; Dr. Kamal Upreti, Associate Professor, Department of Computer Science, Christ University, Delhi NCR Campus, Ghaziabad; Dr. Harsh Mathur, Head and Associate Professor, Computer Science and Engineering, Rabindranath Tagore University, Bhopal; Dr. A. K. Sharma, Professor, Computer Science and Engineering, School of Engineering and Technology, Career Point University, Kota, Rajasthan; Dr. B. K. Sharma, Professor, Department of Computer Science and Applications, Mandsaur University, Mandsaur; and Dr. Deepesh Kumar Saxena, Registrar, University of Patanjali, Haridwar, Uttarakhand.

Throughout the FDP, participants gained comprehensive exposure to emerging applications of Artificial Intelligence in education. The programme covered key themes including the fundamentals of AI and AI-powered teaching tools, ethical and responsible use of AI, prompt engineering for educators, AI-based content creation, and AI-assisted assessment and evaluation. The sessions provided practical insights into enhancing teaching-learning processes, developing high-quality educational content, designing effective assessments, improving learner engagement, ensuring ethical AI adoption, and leveraging AI technologies for academic innovation, productivity, and personalized learning.

Summarizing the programme's outcomes, Prof. Rajeshwar Dayal, Head of the Department of Computer Applications, highlighted several key takeaways for participants. He emphasized that Artificial Intelligence should be viewed as a powerful educational assistant rather than a replacement for educators. He noted that effective prompt engineering, ethical AI practices, AI-driven content creation, and intelligent assessment tools can significantly improve teaching quality, learner engagement, and academic efficiency. He further encouraged educators to embrace emerging technologies responsibly and continuously upgrade their digital competencies to remain relevant in the rapidly evolving educational landscape.

The programme concluded with an interactive discussion session and a vote of thanks. Participants appreciated the practical orientation of the FDP and acknowledged its relevance in preparing educators to effectively harness the opportunities offered by Artificial Intelligence in teaching, learning, research, and academic administration.
