ISM Empowers Researchers with Advanced AI-Driven Research Methodology FDP

ISM Patna, June 12, 2026: Reinforcing its commitment to academic excellence, research innovation, and evidence-based scholarship, the Department of Management at the International School of Management (ISM), Patna successfully organized a five-day virtual Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on the theme “Research Methodology in Management: From Conceptual Foundations to Advanced Statistical and AI-Driven Research” from June 8 to June 12, 2026.

The programme was conducted under the visionary leadership of Sri Deval Singh, Vice Chairman, with academic guidance from Prof. (Dr.) Sandeep Kumar, Director; Prof. (Dr.) Viveka Nand Sharma, Dean and Principal; Prof. (Dr.) Sweta Rani, Academic Head; and Ms. Neeru Kumari, IQAC Coordinator. The FDP was organized by Dr. Pooja Dubey, Head, Department of Management, and coordinated by Dr. Anand Choudhary.

Designed to strengthen research competencies among academicians, researchers, and scholars, the programme brought together distinguished experts from leading national and international institutions. The resource persons included Dr. A. K. Verma of Christ University, Bengaluru; Dr. Abrar Ahmad of AMIST University, Malaysia; Dr. Nilesh Narayan, Principal, Oxford, Patna; Dr. Atul Sathe, Associate Professor, H.R. College of Commerce and Economics, Mumbai; and Dr. Titas Ghosh of The Neotia University, Kolkata.

Over the course of five days, participants were exposed to a comprehensive range of topics covering both foundational and advanced dimensions of research methodology. The sessions addressed key areas such as foundations of research, research philosophy and research design, literature review and sources of research, sampling techniques and measurement scales, data collection using Google Forms, statistical analysis using SPSS, quantitative and qualitative research methods, data interpretation, basic data analysis using Excel, understanding research results, academic writing, and publication strategies. Special emphasis was placed on the growing role of Artificial Intelligence and digital tools in contemporary research practices.

The expert speakers enriched the programme through practical demonstrations, real-world examples, and interactive discussions, enabling participants to understand the complete research process, from conceptualizing research problems to data analysis, interpretation, report writing, and publication in quality journals.

Highlighting the outcomes of the FDP, Ms. Neeru Kumari, IQAC Coordinator, observed that the programme successfully enhanced participants’ understanding of scientific research methodology and contemporary analytical tools. She emphasized that the key takeaways included developing rigorous research designs, selecting appropriate sampling techniques, conducting reliable data analysis using Excel and SPSS, integrating qualitative and quantitative approaches, employing AI-enabled research tools, strengthening academic writing skills, and understanding ethical and publication-related aspects of research. She noted that such initiatives are instrumental in promoting a vibrant research culture and improving the quality of scholarly output in higher education institutions.

Speaking on the occasion, the organizers expressed their gratitude to the eminent resource persons and enthusiastic participants, whose active engagement contributed significantly to the programme's success. The FDP concluded with a reaffirmation of ISM Patna’s commitment to fostering research excellence, innovation, and continuous professional development among educators and researchers in the evolving landscape of higher education.
