"INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY CELEBRATION"

Women achievers, including bureaucrats, entrepreneurs and academicians, shared their experiences during the International Women's Day celebrations at International School of Management (ISM), Patna on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 and pitched for gender equality for a “sustainable tomorrow”; Stating that laws meant to protect women’s rights should be implemented effectively, they called for an end to gender discrimination and a change in attitude towards women citizens. However, amidst all the talk of women empowerment, please maintain your femininity and dont shy away from being a housewife, they told girl students

Speaking as the chief guest, Deputy Inspector General (DIG), Special Task Force, Ms. Kim shared her journey as a police officer and told the ISM students that things around them have been sturdy for a long time and it was almost impossible to change. “Therefore, to change the world, you must first change yourself”; she said.

The college also felicitated eight women of substance for their contribution towards women’s rights and empowerment. They included Ms. Kim, Dr. Poonam Choudhary, former Principal of Arvind Mahila College, Ms. Aparna Singh, Coordinator of India International School, Dr. Smriti Singh, Associate Dean IIT-Patna, Dr. Shachi Gunjan, Occupational Therapist, Dr. Vinita Priyadarshini and Dr. Nandita Mehta, both academicians, and entrepreneur Vidisha Shahi. Earlier, welcoming the guests, ISM Director, Dr. RK Singh, said that the event was dedicated to four eminent women – US Vice President Ms. Kamala Harris, former PepsiCo CEO Indra Nooyi, Union Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Bihar cadre IPS officer, Ms. Kim.The programme was anchored by Assistant Professor Ms. Shilpi Kavita, while Assistant Professor Dr. Sweta proposed the vote of thanks.
