ISM Patna, 1 March 2025: The Eco-club of NSS Cell at the International School of Management, Patna (ISM Patna), has been officially renamed as “GREENISM Eco-Club” following a general body meeting held on Saturday, 1 March 2025. The event, organized under the guidance of Director Dr. V. B. Singh and coordinated by Admin, Neeru Kumari, was held in collaboration with Tarumitra, Patna, a well-known environmental organization.
The meeting witnessed the participation of students, faculty members, and non-teaching staff who deliberated on key upcoming events, including International Women’s Day 2025 and Holi celebrations. Ms. Devopriya Dutta, Youth Coordinator at Tarumitra, Patna, delivered an insightful lecture on environmental conservation, following which the NSS volunteers conducted a voting session to finalize the new name of the Eco-club. Among ten suggested names, “GREENISM Eco-Club” emerged as the most popular choice.
As part of their commitment to sustainability, the club decided to dedicate International Women’s Day (8 March) as a tribute to Mother Earth. NSS volunteers will stage street plays (Nukkad Natak) at public places in Patna to raise awareness about celebrating Holi organically. They will emphasize the use of natural colours derived from flowers, turmeric, coriander powder, flour, and corn starch instead of harmful chemical-based colours.
Additionally, ISM Patna will celebrate Holi on campus with only organic colours, reinforcing the institution’s dedication to environmental consciousness. The initiative aims to protect Mother Earth from the adverse effects of synthetic colours, conserve water, and instil sustainable cultural values in younger generations as part of the Indian Knowledge System.
With this eco-friendly initiative, ISM Patna continues to lead by example in fostering environmental awareness and sustainable practices within the community.
The Admin underscored the significance of environmental education in today’s world, highlighting its crucial role in shaping a sustainable future. “We are honoured to host Ms. Devopriya Dutta, whose work with Tarumitra has had a profound impact on fostering ecological consciousness,” the Admin stated. “Her lecture is a valuable contribution to our ongoing efforts to instil a culture of sustainability among our students.”
Emphasising the responsibility of young minds in environmental preservation, she added, “Our students, as the future stewards of society, must recognise their critical role in protecting our planet. Their awareness and commitment serve as a guiding force for both present and future generations to engage in meaningful environmental action.”
