Empowering Future Managers with Financial Wisdom: Credit Awareness Seminar Held at ISM Patna

ISM, Patna, February 26, 2026: The Department of Management at the International School of Management (ISM), Patna, successfully organised a seminar on Credit Awareness, a comprehensive financial literacy session for students. The initiative was conducted by the BFSI Sector Skill Council of India in collaboration with SBI Cards and Payment Services Limited, aiming to equip young learners with essential knowledge about banking and responsible credit usage.

The seminar was delivered by Mr. Priya Ranjan, an experienced Banking Trainer, who provided valuable insights into the fundamentals of the banking ecosystem. His engaging session covered a wide range of topics, including the introduction to the banking system, classification of banks, and the pivotal role of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). He also explained various types of loans, effective EMI planning, and strategies for debt management.

Highlighting the growing importance of digital finance, Mr. Ranjan elaborated on the benefits of digital lending platforms, while also emphasizing consumer rights and mechanisms for grievance redressal. The interactive session encouraged students to understand the importance of maintaining a healthy credit profile and making informed financial decisions.

The seminar was coordinated by the Training and Placement Officer (TPO), Ms. Neeru Kumari, whose efforts ensured the programme's smooth execution. The event was academically guided by the Director, Dr. Sandeep Kumar, and the Academic Head, Dr. Sweta Rani, whose continuous encouragement supports such industry-academia initiatives at the institution.

In her takeaway note, the TPO highlighted that the session not only enhanced students’ understanding of credit management but also prepared them to navigate financial responsibilities confidently in their professional and personal lives.

The seminar concluded with an engaging question-and-answer session, reflecting the students’ keen interest in strengthening their financial literacy and becoming informed participants in India’s evolving financial landscape.
