City-based Social Psychologist Shares Personality Mantras with ISM Students

Hon’ble Senior Technical Director, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India, Mr. Pankaj Kumar, inaugurated a Six-Day “Deeksharambh” 2023 orientation programme for the incoming First Semester PGDM, BBA, BCA, B. Com, and BJMC students at International School of Management Patna, a leading educational institution of the province, on Monday, 21 August. This inaugural session was also marked by the gracious presence of the Honourable Chairman of ISM, Sri Samrendra Singh, Vice-chairman, Sri Deval Singh, Secretary, Sri Amal Singh, Director, Dr. Vijay Bahadur Singh, and Admin, Ms. Neeru Kumari Jha. 

“Deeksharambh” 2023 will continue up to 26th August. To accommodate the diverse schedules of the students, the programme will be conducted in three shifts, spanning two days each. The first two days are scheduled for the BCA students. The event was meticulously designed to provide students with a seamless transition into their academic journey at ISM Patna.

The programme was started with a welcome note delivered by the Chairperson of the IPR Cell and Programme Coordinator and Nodal Head of the institute, Assistant Professor, IT, Mr. Rajeshwar Dayal. He extended a warm and sincere welcome to the Chief guests and one and all present in the Mahatma Gandhi Auditorium of the institute.  He also introduced the students to the vibrant campus life and the myriad opportunities awaiting them for their personality development and career prospects at the institute and highlighted the objectives and significance of the programme.  

Mr. Pankaj Kumar delivered a captivating keynote address during the inaugural session. In his address, he shared invaluable insights with young minds, emphasizing the significance of the fields of electronics, information technology, and management in the modern world. He discussed the rapid advancements in technology and their critical role in shaping various industries and sectors. He also highlighted the government's initiatives to promote innovation, entrepreneurship, and skill development among the youth, underscoring the importance of staying updated with the latest trends and skills. Mr. Kumar's speech was informative and inspiring, as he urged the students to dream big and strive for excellence in their chosen fields with the intellectual assistance of the dedicated and erudite faculty members at ISM Patna. He stressed the need for a holistic approach to education, combining theoretical knowledge with practical experiences and real-world application.

The director of the Institute expressed his gratitude to Mr. Kumar for gracing the occasion and motivating the students. He noted that Mr. Kumar's insights resonated deeply with the institution's commitment to providing a world-class education that prepares students for the challenges and opportunities of the digital age. Extending his warm congratulations collectively to all the fresh faces joining the BBA, BCA, BCP, BAJMC, and PGDM as fields of study, he said, “As you step into our campus, you are not merely entering a set of classrooms, but a gateway to a world of learning, exploration, and personal growth. We are delighted to have each one of you here, for you are not just students; you are the future leaders, innovators, and change-makers of tomorrow. Your presence enriches our community, and we are committed to providing you with an environment that nurtures your talents, challenges your intellect, and shapes your character. Our dedicated faculty members, with their immense knowledge and expertise, will guide you on this journey of discovery. They will encourage you to question, analyse, and think critically.” He also reminded them that education is not about memorizing facts, but about developing the ability to think independently and solve complex problems.

Before the commencement of the panel discussion, the inaugural session was wrapped up with a vote of thanks proposed by Domain Leader of the Department of Information and Technology, Ms Jaya Kumari. She expressed heartfelt gratitude to distinguished guests, Faculty members, Lab Instructors of the IT department and all the newly joined BCA students on behalf of the Institute. 

The first day of this orientation programme dedicated to the BCA students featured a keynote speech of the Chief Guest and a compelling panel discussion on “Emerging Trends in Information & Technology.” It aimed to provide an insightful platform for both industry experts and academicians to engage in a discourse about the rapidly evolving landscape of Information Technology (IT) and its impact on various sectors. The students got an opportunity to gain valuable insights into the latest trends like the potential and challenges of AI and ML in diverse industries, growing concerns on cybersecurity and data privacy, analysing the transformative effects of cloud technology and the management of massive datasets, Internet of Things (IoT), Software Development Methodologies etc shared by panellists Mr. Anand Krishna, Faculty and Trainer Astric Solutions India Pvt. Ltd and Mr. Sibhash Jha, Founder Manaskriti Institute of Learning and Development. 

At the end of the first day of the programme, students had a chance to engage in lively discussions in a feedback session conducted by Ms. Jaya Kumari.  The students were found thrilled to have a session specially designed for the “Importance of Personality Development and Positive Attitude” led by distinguished experts in the field and also a management game to be conducted by Assistant Professor, IT, Mr Ravi Singh to enhance decision-making abilities, problem-solving skills, and teamwork dynamics next day on the 22nd August.
