Blood Donation Camp Organised at ISM

At ISM Patna premises, the technical team of Prathama Blood Centre, a Charitable Trust under India Health Partners (HP) Project and Health department, Government of Bihar and ATMRF (technical partner of IHP) organised a two-day blood donation camp on 26 and 27 November. The technical expert team of Prathama organised two blood donation awareness sessions among the students on 26 November. In these awareness sessions the students could know about RBC, Blood plasma, platelets as major components of blood; several advanced componential blood therapy; preservation of blood; Dos and Don’ts during donating blood; misconceptions regarding blood donation and importance of blood donation. On the second day of the camp, 72 students of the institute enthusiastically donated blood in the camp, of which more than 50 students donated blood for the first time.

Acknowledging the lifesaving philanthropic responsibility of the conscientious human being, all the teaching and non-teaching staff of the institute voluntarily participated in this programme. Approximately 72 units of blood were collected in the camp. Director of the institute, Prof (Dr.) R. K. Singh sensitize and encouraged the donors by telling that blood donation is one of the generous donations on the earth that could save someone precious life, light a family’s lamp, and could give bliss to a family. Abiding by the principle of Corporate Social Responsibility, a team of volunteers of ISM coordinated by Dr. Sweta, Assistant Professor, Department of HR, Mrs. Jaya Kumari and Mrs. Vandana Verma, Assistant Professors, Department of IT participated in this programme with unprecedented enthusiasm and gave it a great success.
