Under the guidance of eminent professional economist, Director, Professor, (Dr) R. K. Singh, the Department of Economics and Finance of International School of Management, Patna organised an expert talk on the theme of Economic Cycle Refresh for Banking Sector on Saturday, 21 January, 2023. Ms Komal Singh, Manager, Trade Operations, HSBC, Bangalore, graced the event as key note speaker. About 300 PGDM students of the institute got a grand opportunity to know about current trends in banking sector. The expert deliberated on fundamentals of the fluctuations of the economy between periods of expansion (growth) and contraction (recession) and its indicators such as GDP, interest rates, employment levels, and consumer spending. The students were also acquainted with the impact of economic cycle on investors, stocks, bonds as well as profits and corporate earnings. In the question-answer session of the talk the participants interacted with the speaker with their queries related to career opportunities in banking sector in the post-covid scenario across the globe.
The chief guest was warmly welcomed and felicitated by Domain Leader, Ms Shilpi Kavita, Assistant Professor Mr. Rahul Kumar Sinha and other faculty members of the Department of Economics and Finance. This insightful talk was moderated by PGDM V trimester student, Mr. Alok Kumar Sinha. It came to an end with the vote of thanks proposed by Miss. Shirin.
