International School of Management Patna, concluded a seven-day International Women’s Day Celebration on Wednesday, 15 March. Ms. Shaily Sharma Bhatnagar, an eminent Artist and Sculptor, Guest Faculty, NIFT, Bangalore, graced the event as the chief guest. More than 50 girl alumni of the institute placed in corporate world were invited to share their experiences on this year’s theme of the celebration “Empowered Women: Prosperous Society.”
On this occasion, in the inaugural session of the celebration, Director of the Institute, Prof. (Dr) R. K. Singh said, “As a director of one of the best business schools of the province I am proud to see more and more talented girls of this institute pursuing careers in business and taking on leadership roles. In recognition of this fact, we are thrilled to announce this International Women’s Day celebration open highlighting the achievements of women everywhere on this beautiful planet, the Earth.”
After the inspiring presentations of dozens of works of art and keynote speech of the chief guest, and a panel discussion held by alumni, First Year students participated in debate, presentation, poem recitation, skit, paintings, dances and songs to showcase women who have overcome obstacles and made significant contributions to their fields, as well as provide opportunities for women to connect with one another, share their stories, and build meaningful relationships. They presented India's great women entrepreneurs, social workers and freedom fighters through interesting PPTs. They also held a very sensitive debate on “Should woman as a mother be paid or not?”
Filled with a sense of nostalgia the alumni owed gratitude especially to their teachers Assistant Professor, Ms. Neeru Kumari Jha, Domain Leaders of the Departments of Economics and Finance, and HR, Ms. Shilpi Kavita and Ms. Pooja Dubey, respectively, IT experts, Ms. Vandana Verma and Ms. Jaya Kumari for their indelible academic contributions in shaping their life and career. They remembered them as their mentors for their empowering lectures and discussions and the friendly behaviour. They also recalled the incredible experiences and memories that they had during their days as students at ISM.
“ISM always believes to recognise and celebrate the achievements of women of our community and beyond,” said Ms. Neeru Kumari Jha, Admin of the institute. “This event provides an opportunity to exhibit the remarkable girl alumni of the institute, who are leading the way in their respective fields, and to empower others to continue pushing for progress and equality.”
At the end of the programme the chief guest, alumni and all the women teaching and non-teaching staff members were felicitated by the Director of the institute. This celebration was organised by the Cultural Committee and its Rangmanch wing of the institute. The event featured a series of interactive sessions and performances highlighting women’s empowerment, women’s well-being, gender-based violence and women’s leadership was moderated by Taniya Naaz and Himanshu Sai, Aditi, and Alisha Khanam and Aryan Mishra.
