ISM Patna (13 February 2024): Under the visionary guidance of Director, Dr. V. B. Singh, the Human Resources Department at the International School of Management Patna organised an enlightening guest lecture focusing on Salary Computation, Application, and Related Compliances on Tuesday, 13 February. The event aimed to provide valuable insights to PGDM students, equipping them with essential knowledge in the field of Human Resources. The distinguished resource persons for the lecture were Mr. Praveen Michal Lal, State HR Head, Reliance Jio, Bihar, Ms. Vandana, Lead Talent Management and Operations, Reliance Jio, Bihar, Ms. Shalu Gupta, HR Operation, Jio. Their vast experience and expertise in the industry added immense value to the lecture, offering students a practical understanding of salary computation and the associated compliance aspects. Mr. Praveen Michal Lal shared his insights into the intricacies of salary computation, drawing on his extensive experience in managing human resources at one of the leading telecommunications companies, Reliance Jio. He talked about the basics of labour laws and regulations to ensure compliance with salary components and related compliances. Ms. Vandana, an expert in talent management and operations, provided a comprehensive overview of the application of salary structures in a dynamic corporate environment. The event saw active participation from PGDM students who eagerly engaged with the resource persons, asking pertinent questions and gaining valuable insights into the practical aspects of salary computation and different types of compliances such as minimum wage, provident fund (PF), gratuity, tax deduction at source (TDS), professional tax (PT), employees’ state insurance (ESI), labour welfare fund, bonus act etc. Other faculty members of the HR Department, Mr. Prabhakar and Dr. Neha were present at the event to encourage the participants. On the occasion, the Director, Dr. V. B. Singh and the Principal of the Institute, Dr. Sachin Bhaskar felicitated the distinguished resource persons.
Ms. Pooja Dubey, Head of the HR Department and also Co-convener of the event, expressed her gratitude towards the resource persons for their invaluable contribution.
