      Budget and its impact on Personal Finance
    In the series of bridging the gap between the real life implication and the theories that are taught in the classroom, International School of Management Patna organized a guest talk on the topic: Budget 2018-19 and its Impact on Personal Finance. As the keynote speaker, Mr.Prashant Chowdhary (AVP,IDFC) in his address to the students of Management reiterated the importance of investment in every individual life, how one has to plan in systematic manner to reap the benefits in future. In his presentation, he detailed the effect of budget 2018-19 and its implication on salaried employees, the Union Budget 2018-19 comes at a time when slowing growth, subdued investment sentiment, and widening fiscal deficit are among the major concerns for the economy. The slowdown in growth has had an impact on job creation as well, which is not good news for the youth who are looking for better position after completion of their education. In the present scenario, the Budget called for stepping up public investment, which is clearly seen in the different proposals put forth by the Finance Minister, in his budget presentation. The budget 2018 will definitely bring a cheer and relief to senior citizens and the marginalized income group. However, investors in equity shares and equity mutual funds will be a disappointed lot. Especially, mutual fund investors who have invested in the dividend plan of equity-oriented funds such as balanced funds in order to earn regular income. Certainly, the information shared will definitely help the students to understand budget and its implications with more clarity and planning their personal finance in an effective manner. Mr.Prashant had awarded gifts to the students who had asked value added questions during the session.
